Austin, Texas -- South By Southwest (SXSW) has just announced the first round lineup for its 2015 installment. Courtney Barnett, The Pop Group, Jessie Ware, and Thee Oh Sees lead the initial wave of artists.

Twin Peaks, The Big Pink, and Happyness will join them in Austin this year, as will PharmakonBlack Milk, Ben Kweller, and Luluc. Scroll down for the full lineup.

The general music-loving public was somewhat shaken up a few weeks ago when a SXSW-sanctioned report advised the festival to crack down on unofficial showcases and possibly leave Austin if its demands from the city government were not met. Festival officials responded quickly, saying they have no intention of ever leaving Austin, though they are interested in limiting certain unofficial events for safety purposes. We'll see what that looks like in 2015.

SXSW badges are currently on-sale with music badges available for $695, increasing to $725 later this week. If you're looking to start planning your Austin trip early, check out our SXSW Festival Guide for travel tips, insights, and local recommendations.
