New Festival Alert: Flow to Launch Slovenian Festival in 2015
Flow Festival 2014 via the Festival
Ljubljana, Slovenia -- Helsinki-based Flow Festival has founded a sister festival, Flow Festival Ljubljana, in collaboration with Slovenian organizers. The new Flow will take place June 26-28 and, like the original Flow in Finland which takes place in a former power plant, will make use of a unique festival environment - a tobacco factory milieu from the late 19th century.
Flow Festival Ljubljana will also take after its Finnish counterpart in programming; the festival will focus on inspiring current music, urban culture, visual arts, and engaging services. Its initial lineup too is similar, with Run The Jewels and Dixon playing both Flow fests. Other confirmed acts for the Slovenian Flow include Pet Shop Boys, Róisín Murphy, Metronomy, Caribou, José Gonzalez, Bonobo (dj set), åme, DJ Koze, Derrick May, Bad Copy, Edo Maajka, Polona Kasal x KALU, and Torul. Food and beverage offerings will include local restaurateurs, breweries, and wine producers.
Ljubljana was selected both due to its reputation as one of the most appealing European destinations and because of its current lack of a music festival of this stature. Flow expects visitors to attend from within Slovenia as well as neighboring Austria, Italy, Hungary, and Croatia in addition to German-speaking Europe, China, The UK, and Finland.
Flow Festival Ljubljana will release 3-day Early Bird tickets Wednesday, March 4 at 9am CET for 85 euros. The price will increase in early April, at which time other ticket types will also become available.
Here at Cultivora, we had a blast a Flow Festival Helsinki last summer, which you can relive in written- and photo-form, and hope to check out the sister festival in 2015!
