The last day of South By Southwest is nothing to take for granted. Sure you're tired, sore, and most likely a little hungover but those definitely aren't good enough reasons for not making the most of a SXSW Saturday.

Click through for a photo timeline of my last day at South by, including METZ, Delicate Steve, Vacationer, High Highs, and more.

My day started early (well, at noon) with a stop at the Øya Festival Day Party to see the Oslo-natives in Heyerdahl. Their indie-pop infused hard rock swings between ethereal and dark as quickly as the band switched between two lead singers during their live performance.

After Heyerdahl's set, my SXSW partner of the week Marjana Jaidi and I parted ways. You can find her SXSW Saturday highlights here.

Next up, METZ at The Mohawk for The A.V. Club Day Party. This Toronto-bred trio rocked out hard to a receptive crowd, proving you don't need at least twelve members to be considered a band in Canada.

After a brief stop at the Chi'Lantro food truck for spicy tofu tacos (a must-try for any trip to Austin), I made my way to Paste Magazine's Stages on Sixth for Leagues. Admittedly, I hadn't listened to these guys too extensively before SX. But after the 4th person told me I should check them out, I thought I'd better oblige - and boy am I glad I did.

This seemingly mismatched quintet delivered a flawless set complete with impressive dance moves on behalf of frontman Thad Cockrell, genuine audience sing-a-longs, and even more genuine audience appreciation.

Immediately following Leagues, Delicate Steve took to The Stages on Sixth's Outdoor Stage for my second SXSW encounter with the New Jersey-based group. I was equally as impressed with Delicate Steve Marion's slide guitar skill and deadpan audience interaction as I was the previous day. More on the band's SXSW shows and our interview with Marion coming soon.

A block away I made my way into The Aussie BBQ at Maggie Mae's just in time for the High Highs' set - my favorite Brooklyn-Based, Australian-Raised band of the moment. I've been attracted to their ethereally textured, synth-folk melodies since their CMJ Aussie BBQ appearance last October, and the attraction proved just as strong 5 months later.

Outside on the roof top deck of The Aussie BBQ, the baby-faced members of San Cisco lent their upbeat pop-tunes to an eager crowd who thought the quartet were more adorable than Awkward.

Kenny Vasoli took a few trips from his past musical endeavors to reach Vacationer - if only because The Starting Line never made me feel like I was lying on a beach drinking from a coconut. The globe resting on an amp, the smile residing on Kenny's face, and the smell of weed wafting from the audience aided in the music's ability to transport you to another destination, one much sunnier.

Karen Marie Ørsted () has been dubbed 'The New Grimes,' a connection I didn't quite make as the Danish singer took to the stage at The Hype Hotel. MØ's simplicity in stage set-up and appearance contrasts Grimes' attention to loud detail. Sure she follows in a similar vein to the semi-recent influx of girls with synths, but MØ still managed to set herself apart.
