How will you say farewell to 2013? Scroll down for the music festivals, Cultivora festival guides, and announcements you need to be at, read, and look out for, respectively.

Music Festivals

Most music festivals this time of year take place Down Under, where the flipped seasons make outdoor events more bearable, if sweatier. The first such festival is Stereosonic, which will travel to Sydney and Perth ending December 1. Stereosonic will then move west and north to Adelaide, December 6-7, and then to Melbourne and Brisbane, December 7-8.

The first edition of Warped Tour Australia will also take place the first half of December, making stops in Brisbane, Canberra, Sydney, Coffs Harbour, Melbourne, and Adelaide from November 29 through December 8.

Stateside, True Music Festival will bring its mix of indie, hip-hop, folk rock, and EDM to Scottsdale, Arizona, December 14. The same day, Boogie In The Bungalow will hosts its 5th indoor music & camping extravaganza.

On the 21st, Amsterdam takes the festival spotlight with Valhalla, a one-day event of electronic artists and circus acts.

Post-Christmas, music festivals begin to double as New Year's Eve plans. Queensland's Woodford Folk Festival will take place December 27-January 1 in the majestic, mountain location of Woodfordia, which briefly hosted Splendour in the Grass.

From December 28-January 3, Falls Festival will simultaneously take place in Marion Bay, Tasmania; Lorne, Victoria; and Byron Bay, New South Wales. The lineup is (relatively) the same in each city, with artists switching days on each lineup.

Additional NYE festivals include New Zealand's Rhythm and Vines and Rhythm and Alps as well as California's Snowglobe and Colorado's Decadence, all which will take place December 29-31.

Festival Guides

This December, we're proud to be releasing a digital guide to Playa del Carmen's The BPM Festival. We already have a BPM guide on our site, but the digital version - the official version - will feature recommendations sourced from the festival's artists and biggest fans in addition to our Cultivora contributors. There'll also be special features, like a survival guide, transportation section, mini guide, and playlist.

Along with the guide will come an additional contest for The BPM Festival. Stay tuned with us for details on the Grand Prize and how to enter.

Around the holidays, festivals tend to release Early Bird tickets and brief holiday sales - so keep your eyes peeled for these deals to get a head start on 2014's festival season. This December, you should also watch out for new additions to SXSW's Band List and The BPM Festival's lineup.
