Newport, Isle of Wight -- After a 26-year hiatus, Bob Geldof will again front The Boomtown Rats for a UK festival exclusive. The Dublin-based band will play the Main Stage of The Isle of Wight Festival on Sunday, June 16.

Geldof, who has previously attended but never played the festival, feels it's not only a good time to "re-Rat" but it's a great location as well. "I've always fancied playing the Isle of Wight Festival ever since I hitched there in the good/bad days when I was a kid. I saw The Who, Doors (I think), Hendrix and Leonard Cohen," quotes the festival.

The Boomtown Rats will be joined by headliners The Stone Roses, The Killers, Bon Jovi, and Happy Mondays, as well as the stellar list of already announced acts and those still to come.

Tickets for the June 13-16 festival are on sale now with both camping and non-camping options available.
