The BPM Festival 2014 by Marjana Jaidi

Winter is now blowing in (a bit earlier than it should, am I right?), and the festival season has just about wrapped up. However, this is the time of year in which promoters start announcing lineups to get us psyched for spring and summer, not to mention there are still a few winter-themed, Australian, and destination festivals to look forward to. We at Cultivora will be here to cover all of it, so scroll down to see what you can expect from us in the next couple of months as far as festivals, guides, and features are concerned.

We're only featuring one travel guide for the December-January portion of the year, but it's an essential one. The BPM Festival is returning to Playa del Carmen, Mexico, and we have the lowdown on the best spots around town to eat, sleep, shop, party, and explore in addition to travel tips and insights. If you're new to the festival, definitely check out this guide.

It's also the time of year to start planning your SXSW trip, so feel free to consult our guide for all you need to know about Austin in regards to local recommendations and getting around the town. It may seem preemptive but, trust us, hotels are already booking up and flight prices are getting out of control.

We still have a lot in store for the next couple months despite the small number of festivals. We're bringing our third annual Holiday Gift Guide with our top picks in the realms of travel, tech, music, and festivals. You can also expect our Holiday playlist to come soon, full of our favorite winter-time tracks from our favorite (relevant) artists. We also have two year-end lists coming you're way regarding our favorite festival artists and our favorite festivals. And finally, we'll be in attendance at the International Music Festival Conference and The BPM Festival this December and January, respectively, so expect features and full coverage.
