Can you feel it? Summer's almost here, the season for exploration, fun in the sun, and - most importantly - music festivals.  So, we're bringing you a list of the best festivals to attend in June in North America. Enjoy and don't forget these tips for staying cool!

Governors Ball

When: June 6-8
Where: New York City, New York
Who: Outkast, Jack White, Vampire Weekend, The Strokes, Skrillex, Phoenix, Interpol, Disclosure, Foster the People, TV on the Radio, and more

Set on Randall's Island, Governors Ball is the premier, genre-encompassing New York City festival. Whether its the acts on the main stages or the pre- and after-parties, this year is looking to be a blast. 

Field Trip

When: June 7-8
Where: Toronto, Canada
Who: Broken Social Scene, Interpol, The Kills, Half Moon Run, Constantines, CHVRCHES, Washed Out, Lord Huron, and more

Field Trip will feature the only Broken Social Scene set of the year, which makes sense considering that festival host Arts and Crafts Productions was founded by band-member Kevin Drew. This indie rock festival is not one to be missed. 

Bonnaroo

When: June 12-15
Where: Manchester, Tennessee
Who: Elton John, Kanye West, Jack White, Lionel Ritchie, Vampire Weekend, The Avett Brothers, Phoenix, Skrillex, Arctic Monkeys, Frank Ocean, and more

Do we really have to tell you what Bonnaroo is? Duh, get yourself to the Farm, kids. 

Northside Festival

When: June 12-19
Where: Brooklyn, New York
Who: Beirut, CHVRCHES, The War on Drugs, Thee Oh Sees, Sharon van Etten, Titus Andronicus, Beirut, Perfect Pussy, and more

Now in its fourth year, Brooklyn's weeklong Northside Festival promises a great lineup of indie rock. You'll see established bands as well as up-and-comers in both the New York and international scenes. 

Spring Awakening

When: June 13-15
Where: Chicago, Illinois
Who: TiĆ«sto, Pretty Lights, Kaskade, Diplo, Knife Party, Steve Aoki, Benny Benassi, Big Gigantic, Flux Pavilion, and more

Set at Chicago's historic Soldier Field, this EDM festival promises a rave with over 100,000 people. 

North by Northeast

When: June 13-22
Where: Toronto, Canada
Who: Spoon, St. Vincent, Juicy J, Sleigh Bells, Danny Brown, Spiritualized, Mac DeMarco, tUnE-yArDs, and more

Toronto's counterpart to Austin's SXSW is looking pretty solid this year with film, comedy, art, and interactive expos in addition to a sweet lineup. 

Firefly

Where: Dover, Delaware
Who: Foo Fighters, Outkast, Jack Johnson, Imagine Dragons, Pretty Lights, The Lumineers, Arctic Monkeys, Weezer, Band of Horses

Who would of thought such a solid festival could take place in... Delaware? Nevertheless, Firefly has delivered in its first two years and looks to do so again in 2014. 

Electric Daisy Carnival Las Vegas

When: June 20-22
Where: Las Vegas, Nevada
Who: Lineup TBA

Even without its lineup announced, this massive EDM festival has sold out its 300,000+ tickets. This will be big. 

Electric Forest

When: June 26-29
Where: Rothbury, Michigan
Who: The String Cheese Incident, Steve Angello, STS9, Zedd, Ms. Lauryn Hill, Cut Copy, Excision, Flying Lotus, and more

Now in its fourth year, Electric Forest has developed a strong community of fans and artists promoting a sense of togetherness. We reviewed last year's festival, and we're certainly pumped for the 2014 installment.
