Bonnaroo 2014 Reveals 3 Ridiculous SuperJam Lineups

posted by Laura Baker-Finch on May 07, 2014

Manchester, Tennessee -- Bonnaroo has become known as much for its SuperJams as its sweltering heat, stellar lineups, and community spirit. This year will be no exception as the festival reveals three ridiculous(ly amazing) SuperJam lineups.

In our opinion, the craziest and most anticipated of the weekend will come Saturday night as Skrillex will take over the SuperJam. He'll be joined by Janelle Monaé, Chance the Rapper, Damian "Jr. Gong" Marley, Big Gigantic, The Doors' Roby Krieger, Warpaint, Thundercut, Zedd, and, perhaps most impressively, the Grateful Dead's Mickey Hart. Seriously.

Friday's SuperJam is for fans of jam bands; Derek Trucks will bring out an array of artists, including Chaka Khan, Taj Mahal, Eric Krasno, James Gadson, David Hidalgo, and Adam Deitch. Andrew Bird, Susan Tedeschi, and Ben Folds will also join the jam as special guests.

Sunday's SuperJam, titled The Bluegrass Situation SuperJam, will be hosted by Ed Helms. He'll bring out Lonesome Trio, Dierks Bentley, Sarah Jorosz, Lake Street Dive, The Black Lillies, Shovels & Rope, The Lone Bellow, Robert Ellis, Della Mae, Bryan Sutton, and Dave Johnston of YMSB.

Friday and Saturday's SuperJam lineups both end with the telling "and more!" sign off, so you should arrive prepared for even more special guests added to the eclectic performers officially announced.

Past SuperJam performers have included D'Angelo, Dr. Jon, Dan Auerbach, John Paul Jones (Led Zeppelin), Jim James (My Morning Jacket), R. Kelly, Brittany Howard (Alabama Shakes), Phil Lesh, and Kirk Hammet (Metallica).

Bonnaroo will take place June 12-15 at 'The Farm' in Manchester, Tennessee. Tickets to the summer camping festival are still on sale, in the General Admission, VIP, and Payment Plan categories.
