Playa del Carmen, Mexico -- Jaceo & Vedic caressed their instruments to pack a powerful punch out of the speakers and set the mood for the day to come. This Denver-based duo is blowing up. Not confined to any particular genre, their variety of production and sound have allowed them to advance themselves to form close relationships with esteemed artists including Richie Hawtin, Luciano, and Marco Carola, just to name a few. The beauty of their set was that they were versatile, cognizant of the crowd, and present to make a worthy first impression during their BPM debut.

Oliver $ (pronounced Oliver dollar), got on the decks, playing a soulful mix arousing the crowd that had been groovin' for the first two hours. This Berlin phenomenon, coming from a residency at Panorama Bar, played his heart out even as the rain progressed which called for an interesting array of on-the-move tactics to let the music stay on. With that said, there were times when a tarp was covering the booth, when bamboo rods were inserted to provide a concave covering above the decks, or simply a myriad of towels making sure that the equipment was safe. It was definitely a work of art from professionals who had one goal in mind, don't let the rain put a damper on a fucking good party.

Pleasurekraft came on later, dropping technical twists and turns that drove the audience bonkers. This cat has been in the DJ world since 2010, but with a musically trained upbringing, has the aura of someone who's been in the scene paralleled with the likes of legends.
