BPM 2014 Photos: Catching some Zzzs
Photo: Yours truly at Mamita's during Life and Death by Angela del Sol
Playa del Carmen, Mexico -- At The BPM Festival, I quickly learned good sleep can be hard to come by. Not only did I see tons of people sleeping at venues (and with venues like Mamita's, above, why wouldn't you?), but by the end of the week, I was dead.
Thanks to my Jawbone bracelet, you can see just how much (or little) sleep I got during BPM. (In case you're wondering, I averaged about 4.5 hours a night during my time there.) Two days in, I realized I had to let go of the idea that I needed 6 hours of sleep to function as a human being. Ridding myself of that mental block allowed me to stop stressing about needing sleep and start just enjoying the experience (and the sunrise!). I will say that the advice on staying energized in our BPM travel guide was dead-on.
