Seattle, Washington -- Bumbershoot 2014 has announced that it will move the main stage of its festival outdoors, as opposed to the KeyArena indoor setting in previous years. The result of the old setup had been long lines and a symbolic separation between the headlining acts and the rest of the festival. Bumbershoot has stated that, "...a winning combination of necessity, patron feedback, and community support is allowing us to move our biggest stage back outdoors this year."

The festival has also announced the Pink and Purple Pickwick Party on May 8 that will feature Ken Jennings as host, a few local bands, and most importantly the lineup announcement at the end of the night. They'll also be giving away Platinum Passes to whoever sports the best pink and purple costume.

Bumbershoot 2014 will take over the Seattle Center August 30-September 1. Advance tickets are now on-sale for $112 with the price being bumped up the day of the lineup announcement. Check out our Bumbershoot Festival Guide for all you'll need to know about your festival weekend, including the best places to eat, crash, and hangout in Seattle.
