CMJ Music Marathon 2014 Expands Conference Programming

New York City -- CMJ Music Marathon has expanded the conference programming once again for its 2014 installment taking place October 21-25.
As far as films go, the conference will feature a screening of Eric Green and Sarah Ogletree's Beautiful Noise documentary, which traces the origins of the shoegaze genre. A Q&A with Nick Chaplin and Simon Scott of the legendary shoegaze band Slowdive will follow the screening. CMJ will also hold a showings of Metalhead, an Icelandic heavy metal drama, and The Color of Noise, which documents the noise punk label Amphetamine Reptile Records. The latter will be followed by a Q&A with the label's founder Tom Hazelmyer and the film's director Eric Robel.
Attendees can also head to an interactive audience workshop geared towards YouTube audience development hosted by members of the YouTube staff. The 2014 conference will also include panelists Michael Azerrad, Christopher R. Weingarten, Steve Rifkind, Win Music founder Sean Glass, and Viacom Brands Israel Creative VP Elad Sonego, as well as representatives from publications like The Fader, The Talkhouse, Noisey, Rolling Stone and Wax Poetics.
