Download the Lollapalooza 2014 Mobile App!

posted by Dan Murphy on July 17, 2014

Chicago, Illinois -- Lollapalooza is just two weeks away, so it's time to download their 2014 mobile app! In it, you'll find a bunch of helpful features for navigating your Lolla experience.

Firstly, you'll encounter a "build your own schedule" component - a common element among most festival apps - in which users can construct a personal agenda for the weekend, and finally make definitive decisions when it comes to pesky lineup overlaps. The app also has an interactive map of the grounds complete with markers for stages, vendors, and (thank god) bathrooms.

One of the more exciting components comes in the form of a "Discover" tab, where lesser-known acts on the bill are listed with links to their music videos. There are few worse feelings than realizing you love an artist months after skipping their set at a festival, so get familiar with those up-and-comers! You can also connect to Lolla's social media platforms through the app, including a live Instagram feed of pictures with the #lollapalooza hashtag.

The festival also suggests users opt for push notifications, as do I. When an act cancels a set or is forced to move to another stage, you'll want to know hours in advance so you can plan accordingly. Plus, the promoters promised not to abuse the power, so your phone won't blow up with annoying updates all weekend.

The Lollapalooza app is now available for iPhone and Android. The festival will take place August 1-3 at Grant Park in Chicago, and general admission and VIP passes are currently sold-out with a few more expensive options available. If you're heading to Chicago in a couple of weeks, see our Lollapalooza Festival Guide for travel insights and local recommendations.
