Electric Zoo 2014: Eats After the Beat

posted by Laura Baker-Finch on August 27, 2014

New York City -- Once the last headliner has left the decks each night on Randall's Island, the party continues at some of NYC's best clubs for Electric Zoo's Official After Parties. To refuel post-festival but pre-party, check out these late-night eateries located within walking distance of the after party venues.

For these and more local suggestions from EZoo artists and founders for the best NYC spots to eat, sleep, shop, drink, and explore, check out Cultivora's Official Electric Zoo 2014 Travel Guide

With an unparalleled sound system and killer lineups ever week since its January 2013 launch, Output is leading Brooklyn's dance music resurgence. Claiming to be open to anyone, but not for everyone, the 450-capacity club fosters an electronic music experience outside of the fist-pumping, bottle service realm. With cameras forbidden and glow sticks and suits 'discouraged,' Electric Zoo attendees can expect less neon and more Brooklyn at the Output after parties.

New York City may be miles from the Summer beach culture of Ibiza, both geographically and otherwise, but Ibiza has a north American home in Pacha NYC. With 9 years under its belt in New York and nearly 60 in Spain, Pacha has solidified itself as a dance music institution and a world-renown destination both for DJs to play and for fans to party. With 30,000-square feet and four levels, Pacha matches its behemoth reputation with larger-than-life production.

Late-Night Eats

The Marshal
628 10th Avenue
(212) 582-6300

The Marshal takes a casual and interesting approach to the farm-to-table experience, and they do so until 2am in a small dining room that's as homey as the meals cooked in their wood burning oven.

Empanada Mama
763 9th Avenue
(212) 698-9008

With over 40 types of empanadas available plus arepas, tamales, and rice balls, it's hard to tell whether diners come to Empanada Mama     for the menu or because it's open 24/7.

American Retro
714 11th Avenue
(212) 245-2203

You can't go wrong with American diner food served until 4am, especially with a menu dedicated exclusively to Tots ranging from 'disco' (brown gravy and cheese) to 'tot-chos' (nacho-style).
