New York City -- The iconic punk venue-turned-tastemaker-turned-festival is returning to NYC this October with some pretty big names. CBGB Festival has announced Jane's Addiction (who will celebrate the 25th anniversary of Nothing's Shocking by performing it in its entirety), Billy Idol, Devo, We Are Scientists, Dirty South, and Robert DeLong among its big draws. Surfer Blood, Cheeky Parade, Michael Alago, Duff McKagan, and Macy Gray have also been announced. Scroll down for the full lineup so far.

The festival will take place October 8-12 in various venues across Manhattan and Brooklyn, like City Winery, Pianos, and The Knitting Factory. A full list of participating venues has not been released, though a few can be seen by selecting each artist in the lineup individually on the Music Lineup site. The festival will also include a free component, which, in past years, has occurred in the middle of Times Square.

In addition to music, CBGB Festival will host a music-inspired film component. Hardcore Devo Live will have its world premiere during the fest, while This Is Spinal Tap will celebrate its 30th anniversary screening. 2014 releases Like Sunday Like Rain, featuring Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong, With You, written, directed, and soundtracked by Dirty South, and The Winding Stream, a tale of the Carter and Cash families, will also be screened. Head to the festival's Film Lineup site for the full lineup.

This year, tickets to CBGB Festival will be sold to each event individually rather than as a packaged whole. No word yet on whether the free concert will be RSVP based or, as its name suggests, simply free.

We're currently updating our CBGB 2014 Festival Guide to account for the lineup announcement and to include the new venues and their surrounding areas. Stay tuned.
