Seattle, Washington -- Due to the passing of the legendary Bobby Womack last week, Bumbershoot has booked Mavis Staples to perform in his stead. Though no one can fill his shoes, Staples is a welcomed addition to the August festival that will also feature Foster The People, Wu-Tange Clan, and J. Cole.

Also new to lineup today are 100+ short films to be featured in the 1 Reel Film Festival during Bumbershoot. Curated by the Seattle International Film Festival (SIFF), featured shorts will range from SIFF award winners to Seattle love letters to films that'll make you dance. You can browse the full film lineup, which has been divided by categories such as Tales of Science Fiction, Ripped From The Headlines, Face The Music, Best of The Northwest, Love... In The Afternoon, and Down Under.

Bumbershoot takes place at the Seattle Center August 30-September 1 and tickets are on sale now in 1-day, 3-day, and VIP varieties. Access to the film festival is included in all Bumbershoot passes but only Platinum Pass holders will have guaranteed access and line-skipping privileges (careful, these are selling fast).

After you buy your ticket, head to our Festival Guide to Bumbershoot 2014 for travel tips and Seattle recommendations.
