Asheville, North Carolina -- Moogfest 2014 has just announced a series of free concerts and programming to take place during the 5-day music and innovation festival.

The general public is invited to take advantage of these free shows and events, including music production workshops, art installations, and concerts on the Broadway Outdoor Stage featuring Zed's Dead, Giorgio Moroder, and a Fool's Gold Records showcase.

The music production workshops will take place in the Modular Marketplace, an electronic pop-up shop showcasing the newest and coolest instrument makers.   The shop will feature an interactive exhibition in which the public can try out new boutique electronics, experimental devices, and modern synthesizers - and in many cases, interact with the products' designers.  Daily demonstrations will offer everyone a chance to learn something new.

Bradford Cox (Deerhunter), Nick Zinner (Yeah Yeah Yeahs), Gavin Rossum (LCD Soundsystem), Dan Deacon, and other renowned musicians will take part in the Sonic Installations in the CCCD Gallery.  This free series will span 3 days, and as each musician explores the possibilities of the Moog pedal, films and art will be projected in a collaborative video installation.

Though these free shows and events are sure to be awesome, you might want to consider buying a pass for the festival - Kraftwerk is set to play twice on Friday, and other headliners include Pet Shop Boys and M.I.A. Also performing are Flying Lotus, Dillon Francis, Slow Hands, Just Blaze, and Moderat.  Check out the full lineup below.
