Australia -- We don't often focus on Australia in our Music Monday series; there are so many festivals closer to Cultivora's home in NYC that my personal home country often falls by the wayside. But not this week.

In honor of yesterday being Australia Day (woo!) and the fact that we're smack-dab in the middle of Australia's festival season, a playlist dedicated to Laneway Festival seemed all too fitting.

The Australian-founded festival, which now has a home in New Zealand, Singapore, and Detroit, kicks off this Friday, January 31, in Brisbane before moving to Melbourne (February 1), Sydney (February 2), Adelaide (February 7), and Fremantle (February 8).

Unlike some of Laneway's contemporaries, the festival set itself apart from the get-go with its unique, inner-city locations for its stages - like laneways, known stateside as alleys. In 2014, these locales, though expanded to accommodate demand, will feature artists such as Lorde, Chvrches, Haim, Danny Brown, Jagwar Ma, Youth Lagoon, Autre Ne Veut, and Kurt Vile.

Hit play on the playlist to stream the entire lineup, alphabetically, whether you're heading down under for the festival, or just wishing you were somewhere even half as warm.
