Music Monday: 2015 Festival Season Heavy-Hitters

Festival Heavy-Hitter Angel Olsen at FYF Fest 2014 by Laura Baker-Finch

Now that a good portion of this Spring and Summer's music festival lineups have been announced, it's time to familiarize ourselves with this season's heavy-hitters. Our Spotify playlist has honed in on the artists, headliners and first-timers alike, that have appeared on multiple lineup posters since the announcement frenzy began back in January.

Unless fortunate enough to work around music or at festivals (*insert hair-flipping emoji here*), you're not necessarily going to see each of these included artists multiple times in 2015. However, the nature of their festival popularity will up your chances of catching them at your festival of choice this year. Overlapping lineups can be a saving grace, you see.

Whether you decide to attend Coachella, Bonnaroo, Firefly, Sasquatch!, Governors Ball, Lightning in a Bottle, or Forecastle Festival stateside, Primavera Sound, Field Day, Øya, or Flow Festival in Europe, or one of the myriad other festivals taking place this Spring and Summer, our playlist is sure to have a couple artists with which you should familiarize yourself.

The playlist features 40 artists hitting the festival circuit hard this year, from frequent headliners Drake, Lana del Rey, The Black Keys, and Florence + The Machine to new(er)comers Sylvan Esso, Angel Olsen, Jungle, Strand of Oaks, San Fermin, and The Districts. We even included a couple you probably weren't expecting to see this year, but are so glad you might, like Ride, Sleater-Kinney, and Belle & Sebastian
