CBGB Music Festival 2013 by Jeremy Gordon for The Waster

New York City -- CBGB Music + Film Festival kicks off its 2014 installment this Wednesday with a round of showcases and film screenings around NYC. To help you discover the myriad new artists on the bill and prepare for an epic five days of music and culture, we've curated a playlist featuring every act from the lineup.

Since Jane's Addiction is headlining the main event in Times Square with a performance of their seminal 1988 release Nothing's Shocking in full, we thought we'd get things started off right with "Mountain Song." From there, it's a grab bag of old school acts like Devo and Billy Idol, a few more modern artists like Dirty South, We Are Scientists, and Robert DeLong, plus a Talking Heads song since the tribute band Start Making Sense is on the bill. From there, you'll find a ton of local up-and-comers like Lily & The Parlour Tricks, The Skins, and Mother Feather. Remember, this festival is just as much about promoting new artists as it is showcasing the established ones.

Feel free to stream the playlist below or open it in a new window. If you plan to attend, make sure you check out our CBGB Festival Guide for our film and music picks as well as local suggestions and travel tips.

Happy streaming!
