Today's notable new albums come from Franz Ferdinand, Avenged Sevenfold, Ellie Goulding, and Nicki Bluhm & The Gramblers. Scroll down to stream them all and to find out where you can catch them play next.

We've waited four years for Scottish quartet Franz Ferdinand to return with Right Thoughts, Right Words, Right Action and, upon first listen, it sounds like it was worth the wait. The structure maintains the band's pop tendencies and the lyrics don't shy away from wordplay and cynicism. Take a listen via Spotify below and keep an eye out for Franz Ferdinand at one of their upcoming gigs spanning the UK, North America, Australia, and Asia. You can also read about their Coachella gig in our top 10 moments from the festival.

In metalcore releases, Avenged Sevenfold tops the stories today with the release of Hail to the King. You can catch their blend of metal, hard rock, and punk-pop through December.

UK pop darling Ellie Goulding dropped Halcyon Days today, a follow up to 2012's Halcyon. We loved catching Ellie in Qu├ębec last month and can't wait to do it again at one of her upcoming tour dates.

Nicki Bluhm & The Gramblers, who we interviewed back in May, released their long-awaited, self-titled, debut album today. Nicki will be supporting the album at a slew of dates through mid-October.
