On the Scene: Justin Martin at Webster Hall, NYC

posted by Marjana Jaidi on January 27, 2014

New York City -- On Friday night, there were three options for those looking to quench their BPM withdrawal: Justin Martin at Webster Hall, Art Department at Marquee, or Cassy at Output (gotta love New York!).

I went with Webster, where I discovered that there are two types of people in this world: the ones who go to The BPM Festival, and the ones that go to Holy Ship!!!

If you'll recall, the Dirtybird party at Mamita's was one of our BPM favorites.

We weren't the only ones out to recapture some festival magic that night, Holy Shippers were out in droves.

Even Justin Martin was rocking a Holy Ship t-shirt.

If I knew we were repping our festivals, I would have brought a BPM accessory... but apparently, I missed the memo.

A great night overall..

It was interesting to observe the same DJ play to two very distinct audiences in such a short period of time. There's something about the added intention of flying to Mexico for BPM that made the crowd more present than on your average Friday night. The same could be true of Holy Ship, but I wasn't there to see it.

In case we (or he) forgot who he was:

I got to see some old friends...

... and hang with my BPM roommates.
