Primavera Sound Unveils Free Activities in Barcelona

Barcelona, Spain -- Primavera Sound has announced Primavera a la Ciutat, a series of free events for its 2014 edition. These will take place in the Born neighborhood of Barcelona surrounding the festival's May 28-31 weekend, and will feature additional musical performances as well as movie screenings and showcases in various venues. 

The company In-Edit will host several screenings of music documentaries in the Maldá cinema from May 23-25–the weekend before the festival. These will include The Punk SingerCharles Bradley: The Soul of AmericaLou Reed's Berlin, and another film to be announced. Additionally, a series of concerts will take place May 23-June 1 at La Botiga del Primavera Sound featuring smaller bands and DJs. 

Primavera als Bars by Heineken will host an Opening Day concert on May 28 at the Parc del Fórum. Some acts include Sky Ferreira, Holy Ghost!, and Temples in addition to international acts Stromae, Él Mató a un Policía Motorizado, and Fira Fern.

From May 30-June 1, Els Vermuts del Primavera and Martini will take over the Parc de la Ciutadella for morning shows featuring Dum Dum Girls, The Twilight Sad, The Mark Eitzel Ordeal, and The Boogarins as well as Speedy Ortiz, La Sera, Majical Cloudz, Hospitality, and Caveman. There will also be a performance from the band Templeton who specializes in cover songs from the show Adventure Time plus various local acts. 

Primavera Sound will take place May 28-31 in Barcelona. Tickets are currently on-sale with three-day passes starting at 195€.
