Hudson, New York -- Basilica Sound Scape has just announced the first five acts for its 2014 installment, and it's looking noisy. The first two bands on the bill are Swans and Deafheaven, but then it cools off with Tim Hecker and Julia Holter. The Balinese collective Gamelan Dharma Swara is also performing.

Basilica Sound Scape is now in its third year. The festival takes place in a reclaimed 1880s factory, now converted into an art and performance space. The New York Times said of the event, "More festivals, in idyllic destinations or not, should explicitly be this way: a declaration and a creative act, in which a lot of different kinds of musical and literary sensibilities...can be made memorable by juxtaposition and setting." Sold.

The festival will take place September 12-13, and tickets are currently on sale with early-bird weekend passes starting at $50. Day passes will become available after June 15 for $35.
