SXSW 2013 by Laura Baker-Finch

Austin, Texas -- It's never too early to start planning for South By Southwest. Even if you're unsure whether you can attend SXSW 2015, it can't hurt to remain in the loop. Scroll down for updates on the festival/conference's PanelPicker, artist submissions, SXSW V2V, SXSWfm, and merch.

If you're looking for registration, housing, or sales & marketing, check back with us in August once those portals open for 2015.

Make sure your voice is heard by participating in the SXSW PanelPicker. The two-step process gives attendees the opportunity to help pick the conference programming, both by submitting original ideas and voting on the proposals of others. All you need is to sign in to your SXSW account.

Artist Submissions

From July 8-September 5, artists can submit their songs for consideration for the early rate of $33. After this date, the submission fee jumps to $45 through the application deadline in October. All applications must be submitted via Sonicbids.

Can't wait until 2015 for your SXSW fill? The second annual SXSW V2V returns to Vegas July 13-16 to put the spotlight on startups, film, and music. Notable draws include a keynote address from Women's Startup Lab's Ari Horie, a screening of the award-winning Netflix documentary Print the Legend, and performances from White Sea and more. Registration is still open.

Another way to fill that SXSW void until March is via their online radio station, playing new music and tour stops from SXSW alumni like Jack White, Spoon, and The Pains of Being Pure at Heart. Stream anywhere you have an internet connection.

Use the code SXsummer from now until July 20 to receive 20% off SXSW 2014 T-shirts. The code is valid both through the official SXSW Merchandise Store and on Amazon.

Stay tuned with us for more SXSW updates, including lineup announcements and a revamped festival guide later this year.
