Budapest, Hungary -- The team at Sziget Festival has added new acts, stages, and activities to its 2014 installment, taking place this summer from August 11-18 on the "Island of Freedom."

Outkast, Manic Street Preachers and The 1975 will join previously announced artists including Queens of the Stone Age, Bastille, Skrillex, Placebo, La Roux, London GrammarLily Allen and The Kooks. In addition, the week-long festival will kick off with an Opening Show featuring Deadmau5, and close out with a special End Show featuring Calvin Harris.

Sziget is a unique music and arts festival that takes place in over 50 venues across the Obuda Island in Budapest.  In addition to a killer lineup, it also offers cultural activities like theatre and circus programs, exhibitions, and authentic Roma music.  It has been known to attract around 400,000 fans from over 70 different countries, making for an extremely diverse international community of music lovers.

The festival organizers aim to provide an array of activities for both large and small groups, and they've just added some new venues to the mix.  The Campfire Stage will offer a place for anyone from amateur to established musicians to perform, and chosen artists will play an acoustic set around a bonfire.  The Sziget Community Garden will provide an urban garden escape, and we're happy to hear that the Sziget Beach venue will return for a second time. The new Europe Stage will be the place to check out up-and-coming European talent.

If you're not already itching for a ticket to Budapest, the festival features massive group activities at the main stage, like the Colour Party, Flag Party, Balloon Party, Beach Ball Party and Bubble Party.

The festival also hosts the Luminarium, an 800 square meter inflatable sculpture made up of winding tunnels and domes, creating a trippy liquid-light and color experience that is not to be missed.

Festival passes are on sale now, with week long and 5-day passes available, as well as City Pass, Camping, and Caravan options.
