The Knife's Scandinavian Triple-Header

posted by Maressa Levy on January 22, 2013

Swedish electronic group The Knife (comprised of sibling duo Karin Dreijer Andersson and Olof Dreijer) is set to headline three music festivals this summer, kicking off with Flow Festival in Helsinki, Finland on August 7th and ending with Oslo, Norway's Øyafestivalen August 10th. The group will also head to their hometown of Gothenburg, Sweden for Way Out West Festival, where they will perform August 9th.

Flow's first lineup announcement includes R&B favorites Solange and Azealia Banks, punk rapper Mykki Blanco and Iceland's Of Monsters and Men. Flow will also feature notable African artists, including acts like Jupiter & Okwess and Sarah Kivi & Non Orchestra. Tickets go on sale January 28th, and be sure to keep an eye out for our Flow Festival Travel Guide, coming soon.

Way Out West hasn't announced their full line-up yet, but we do know that Solange is also slated to play alongside The Knife. Tickets go on sale this Friday, January 25th.

The Knife's only Norwegian appearance will be at Oslo's Øyafestivalen August 10th, where they will be joined by Canadian newcomers METZ, in addition to Blur, Slayer, and (big surprise) Solange. Tickets are currently on sale.

The Knife is set to release their first album in almost seven years this spring, titled Shaking the Habitual. Check out the teaser video for the album HERE.

If you're thinking about making the trip to Scandinavia this summer, check out our Øya Travel Guide, and stay tuned for our guide to Flow, coming soon. We haven't made it to Way Out West so we don't have a guide for that yet, but hopefully we can complete the trifecta this August!
