Barcelona, Spain -- Sónar Barcelona has announced the first 18 artists to play its 2015 edition, with The Chemical Brothers leading the pack. They'll premiere a new show at the festival that promises "to be an overwhelmingly ecstatic cinematic and sound experience" with the help of filmmaker Adam Smith.

Also among the festival's first acts is the fellow highly-acclaimed group of global electronica, Autechre, as well as younger techno and abstract beat names Vessel and Evian Christ. Lee Gamble will present a new audiovisual concept at the festival with London designer Dave Gaskarth, while Holly Herndon, Kate Tempest, and Helena Hauff will each "showcase their uncompromising artistic discourse."

As always, Sónar will feature local artists that display international potential at its 2015 installment, with PXXR GVNG, Niño, and Mans O already announced. Rounding out its first artist announcement are Fat Freddy's Drop, Kindness, Tourist, Kiasmos, Ten Walls, Daniel Avery, and Sophie.

Sónar will take place June 18-20, 2015 in by Day and by Night installments. Tickets to the festival are currently on sale in a variety of reduced prices and packages ranging from the regular SónarPass and Premium Pass to a just-in-time-for-Christmas Holiday Pack.
