Austin, TX -- Jack White has been known for his innovative ways of bringing the Third Man Records catalogue to the public, especially when it comes to SXSW. In 2011, he brought to Austin his Rolling Record Store, the first mobile record shop based out of a yellow mid-size truck. This year, the label is pulling out all the stops for its SXSW patrons.
Third Man is setting up shop - literally - at the Museum of Human Achievement from March 13-15. The three days will include live performances from Kelley Stoltz, The Haden Triplets, Steve Gunn, and Promised Land Sound among twenty artists total. All of the shows will be streamed online at the WTMR website.
There will also be mouth-watering food trucks and free shots on Friday and Saturday from George Clooney and Rand Gerber's Casamigo Tequila, because George Clooney makes tequila now? The Pop-Up Shop will have merchandise featured only at SXSW among some of TNR's new and classic vinyl pressings, as well as films, visual art pieces, and its first poetry anthology, Language Lessons, for sale.
The record label has also posted a schedule for the appearances of the Rolling Record Store, as opposed to previous years in which TNR would tweet the locations just before the truck would arrive. The RSVP and event info are posted on TNR's website.
