We remember Seattle from the glory days of grunge, when Pearl Jam and Nirvana ruled the airwaves and MTV. With contemporary bands like Band of Horses, The Head and the Heart, and Fleet Foxes getting their start in the Emerald City, it's easy to see that the music scene is still as vital as ever. The addition of a thriving creative scene from theater to visual arts to cuisine make a visit to Seattle as diverse as you want to make it.

Remember, too, that Seattle is the gateway to a vast array of regions full of outdoor adventures. Don't miss a chance to see Mount Rainier up close, or take a short excursion to Bainbridge Island for lunch or shopping. Schedule some time for the San Juan Islands, or a hike in the Cascade Mountains. No matter the reason for coming to Seattle, we're sure you'll find it worth the trip.
