Firefly 2015

Firefly 2014 by Laura Baker-Finch

Picture this: It's a warm summer night in Delaware and you're watching one of your favorite bands perform in front of a hot air balloon, suspended in the sky above a sea of people. Back on the ground, you explore a lush wooded area and join a crowd to enjoy performances while fireflies hang above you in the sky. That's Firefly.

In 2012, the festival debuted to much appraisal from fans and critics alike. Before the festival, however, those debating attending had to let the stunning first-year lineup outweigh the doubts over the festival's questionable road-side location and speedway parking lot camping. Once there, the Woodlands proved a magical location masking the outside world with lush forests, green grass, open spaces, and, of course, the music.

After facing logistics problems in 2013, Firefly organizers added a fourth day to relieve traffic congestion, leading to a massively successful junior year that effectively went off with out a hitch. The festival has now partnered with Goldenvoice, Coachella's production company, for its 2015 event, so we're excited to see how this ever-growing event expands further.
