Finns love late nights, and Helsinki's nightlife spots don't usually open until 10pm, staying open as late as 4am. Keep in mind you need to be 20 to get into most establishments, so have your ID handy.

  • Exodus Bar

    This reggae bar is a neighborhood mainstay, but seats are limited to a few benches and tables surrounding the bar, so it tends to fill up quickly.The small, smoky dive has a great selection of cheap beers with an eclectic collection of painting and graffiti covering the yellow and green walls. Even if you just stop by, this rasta-themed bar is worth a look.

  • Bar Kuudes Linja

    Make sure to walk around to the courtyard entrance at Kaikukatu 4 to enter this bar, as the front entrance is rarely open. Kuudes Linja offers live shows, so check their calendar to see what's on the bill before you head over. While the bar looks a bit dingy from the outside, inside this venue/night club is decked out with leather couches and chairs, with a red-lit, fully-stocked bar. Kuudes Linja is open from 10pm - 4am Wed and Fri-Sat, opening at 11pm Thursday.
