Governors Ball 2015

Governors Ball 2014 by Oliver Correa

Now entering its fifth year, Governors Ball, known fondly as Gov Ball, is New York City's premier contemporary music festival. Gov Ball has built a solid reputation for booking a diverse, well-curated roster of artists, while cultivating high-quality programming that includes much more than just the music.

The festival started in 2011 as a humble, one-day event on Governors Island (hence the name), before moving to the larger Randall's Island and adding a second day for its sophomore edition and a third in its junior year. 2014's installment saw a massively successful weekend with headlining sets from Outkast, Jack White, Vampire Weekend, The Strokes, and Phoenix.

Gov Ball has established itself as New York's biggest festival in its relatively short run by consistently bringing the most exciting lineups to the city and expanding annually. This year, the team plans to increase the festival capacity, so we can't wait to see what Gov Ball has in store for 2015.
