Sasquatch! 2015

Sasquatch 2013 by Kelsey Stoulil

Sasquatch! Music Festival, located in George, Washington, began in 2002 as a little-known, one-day event. Today, it has exploded into a three (sometimes four)-day festival that draws crowds from across the country - although most notably from the Northwest - and has earned a spot in the US's top ten music festivals. Sasquatch! emphasizes indie rock and alternative bands as well as singer-songwriters, with a few electronic and hip hop acts woven into the lineup.

The Gorge Amphitheatre's location - on a cliff overlooking the Columbia River - has great natural acoustics, not to mention a view so breathtaking chills are sent up your spine putting a smile on your face.

Its remote location also has the added bonus of fostering a strong sense of community despite the upwards of 25,000 attendees around you each day. This especially holds true for campers, which includes most all attendees as it's not only included in your ticket, but basically your only option. The Sasquatch! festival site is hours outside of any major city or airport, thus, unlike the majority of our other festival guides that take advantage of a festival's surrounding city, this guide will deal with surrounding areas to help you get to the Gorge. Trust me - once at Sasquatch!, you won't need any of the conveniences of a city. Music, nature, and community; what more do you need? -- Laura Baker-Finch.
